Today I can finally release the Elsa & Elliot coat pattern! I've been working on it for about 4 months and it makes me so happy to now release it for sale. I'm so proud of this pattern, for me it's been a greater challenge than previous patterns have been. I've learned so much and I think the result is pretty awesome :)
Elsa & Elliot includes 13 sizes from 74 to 146, which is approximately 9 months old to 11 years old. It's a fully lined coat in two variants: A) a straight coat, B) a coat with a pleated peplum. It's perfect for both boys and girls and will make excellent coats for autumn, winter and spring. Choose your fabrics based on the season. You can read more about the pattern here.
Elsa & Elliot in PDF-format is 48 pages and the tutorial is 29 A4-pages. The PDF pattern also includes A0 format, 3 pages.
In printed format the pattern takes up 2 large pattern sheets (one printed on both sides) and the tutorial is printed on 28 A4 pages.
I was so impressed when I saw my testers' coats, there are so many gorgeous ones! This is what some of my testers said about the pattern:
"This pattern LOOKED incredibly intimidating but I knew if the tutorial was anything like any of the other Threads By Caroline patterns that I would be able to figure it out. The instructions are so easy to follow and I love that it is explained WHY you are doing certain steps or why you are using a certain sewing technique for a certain part. I feel like I have become a better seamstress after using this pattern because it pushed me to try something out of my comfort zone but I felt great about it the entire time! As for the actual coat I have never seen a pattern so beautiful inside and out. It is such an impressive pattern and ends up looking like a store-bought jacket. The fit is adorable and the jacket is so incredibly practical. I can’t wait to make more!" /Taylor Darval
"A superior coat pattern with a fantastic tutorial that guides you to professional results." /Laura Nilsson
"This is a delightful pattern that is just what you are looking for for an all round coat. Use a lightweight waterproof fabric to make a raincoat, or pull out your favourite heavy wool suitings or softshell for a super cosy coat on cold days. Absolutely love the professional finishes and how versatile the pattern is." /Marnie Durbridge
"This coat is so pretty... on the outside and the inside!" /Noortje Snels
I'm so grateful for my testers! 43 testers participated in this pattern test so the coat has been tested on up to 50 children in different ages and sizes. Here you can view their photos.
