Supplies and Fabrics

Fabric: The pattern is designed for and tested in knit fabrics with at least 40% stretch, such as jersey (cotton/lycra) and french terry. If you’re using a fabric that has much more stretch than 40% we recommend you to size down. If your fabric has less than 40% stretch, size up.

This is an estimation for prewashed fabrics with a width of 150 cm (60”). If you’re buying new fabrics for your project, add 10-20 cm (4-8”) just in case.

If you want to sew bunny ears in a different fabric than the beanie’s there’s a separate row above for that. For the bear ears you only need 15 cm (6”) of fabric, in all sizes.

Sewing machine needle: Don’t forget to use the correct needle for your project. For knit fabrics a stretch needle is usually recommended.

Other materials: You may want interfacing or wadding for the ears, however that’s optional.
