PRINTED PATTERN:
Printed and packaged in our new, updated format! The pattern sheet is printed in color on high-quality 70 g paper that is durable and can be used many times over. The sewing instructions are also color-printed, on 130 g paper. It's a booklet in A5-size, 16 pages. The pattern and booklet are packaged in a beautiful envelope you can save and store your pattern in.
Fabric:
- Knit fabrics such as jersey (cotton/lycra), see fabric requirement below. Heavier fabric such as college/french terry can also be used but you should size up if the fabric has less than 30% stretch. The pattern is created for fabrics with at least 30% stretch. Use the stretch guide in the pattern to evaluate your fabric.
- (Optional): light-weight, fusible interfacing for the chest pocket, approx. 10x10 cm (4x4”).
- Sewing machine needle: Don’t forget to use the right needle for your fabric, for knit fabrics a stretch needle is usually recommended.
- Other useful materials: Glue marker, coordinating thread, needles/clips, tape measure.
The fabric requirements chart below is an estimation for fabrics with 150 cm width (60”). If you’re buying new fabric for your project, I recommend to add a bit extra to be safe. Chest pocket, neckband and flutters are included.
Measure the child and pick a size based on the child’s measurements. Have a look at the measurement for the finished garment and compare with the child’s measurements. I recommend choosing a size that has 3-5 cm (1-2”) larger chest width than the child. Ester & Ebbe has been designed for fabric with at least 30% stretch.
With the included Sewing Instructions you receive help from start to finish. It’s a solid and detailed description of each step in the making of this garment. It includes clear pictures, explanatory text and tips that will give the garment a professional look.
If you are new to some of the sewing techniques this is an excellent opportunity for you to develop your sewing skills. Consider our patterns your sewing school.
The tutorial also includes a size chart and a fabric requirements chart. Measurements are provided in both the metric and imperial system.
