There is a lot to love about Inez! Fun design, quick to sew, and practical to use. The makeup bag opens wide so you can easily see what’s inside.

A zipper pocket is included and you can choose to sew it on the inside or outside of the makeup bag.

So many sewists are afraid of sewing zippers but you don't need to be! Consider this pattern your "zipper sewing school".

Skill level: 2/3 (Level guide).

See the approximate fabric requirement and length of zipper for each variant and size among the pictures on this page.

YOU WILL NEED:

- Outer fabric, light, medium, or heavy weight woven fabric such as cotton, viscose, linen. Some examples are poplin, canvas, denim, twill, softshell, teddy and corduroy. You can also use knit fabrics, such as jersey or french terry, but in that case, stabilise the fabrics with interlining such as Vlieseline H250 or G700.

- Lining fabric, woven fabric in light to medium weight. Such as cotton, viscose and linen. If you use knit fabrics, stabilize them with Vlieseline H200 or G700.

- Fabric for the bindings: Use light weight (thin) woven fabric, since you’ll have many layers to sew.

- Fusible interlining (non-stretch), for more stability and/or volume for the outer and lining fabrics. mer stabilitet och/eller volym till yttertyget. Interlining is optional but it does give the makeup bag a nice finish, especially if your outer fabric is light weight. Usually, one chooses different interlinings for outer and lining fabrics. See my guide in the sewing instructions.

- Zipper: see length in the chart among the pictures, use size 4 mm or 6 mm (width of zipper teeth). You can use zipper with plastic or metal teeth. I recommend using a zipper by the roll.

- Zipper foot for your sewing machine is recommended. It will help you sew close to the zipper.

- Walking foot, to replace your regular presser foot. Very helpful when sewing through many, heavy layers of fabric and interlining. It helps the machine feed the fabric from above, not only from underneath.

USEFUL TO HAVE:

Aqua glue marker, quilt ruler, fabric scissors, pins/clips, and a sewing machine with a suitable needle for your fabric. Use a universal or microtex needle, size 80-90 for regular fabrics. Be prepared to use a heavier needle (universal or denim needle size 100-110) for heavy seams.

See the size guide table among the pictures on this page.
