Fabric: Woven fabric (such as viscose, satin) or knit fabrics (such as cotton jersey, viscose jersey, or ponte di roma).
This is an estimate for prewashed fabrics with 150 cm (60”) width. If you’re buying new fabric for your project, we recommend that you add 10-20 cm (4-8”) just in case.

Elastic, approx. 5 mm (1/4”), if you’re sewing the 3/4 sleeves. Length: 2x12 cm (2x5”).
Elastic, width approx. 10-15 mm (3/8” - 5/8”), for the dress’ back bodice. Length: approx: 30-40 cm (12-16”).
Interfacing (if you finish the neckline with facings, which is suitable when sewing in woven fabrics, optional with knits). Choose an interfacing lighter than your fabric, preferably fusible.
Sewing machine (with jersey/ballpoint or stretch needle if you’re sewing in knits). A serger can also be used for most of the steps, but a sewing machine is just as fine.
Measure your chest, waist and hip and choose a size based on how you’d like the garment to fit your body. If you’re unsure, choose a size based on your chest width. All bodies are unique and this garment doesn’t require you to have a body whose measurements all point to the same size. Alice has a loose fit so in this garment you can sew for example size 38 even if your hip width rather is size 40 (about 100 cm) since the hip width of the final garment in size 38 is 103 cm.

MIXING SIZES, LENGTHENING AND SHORTENING
Of course you can mix sizes! That’s one of the beauties in sewing your own clothes. Read more about that in the Sewing Instructions. The same goes for lengthening/shortening the garment to your preferences.
